TEAM BUILDING

There are tangible benefits that teamwork-focused activities can offer school students.

Participating in team activities can help students develop essential communication and collaboration skills while preparing them for success inside and outside of the classroom.

SETS STUDENTS UP FOR FUTURE SUCCESS: The benefits of teamwork almost always translate into success outside the classroom.

REDUCES BULLYING: One of the biggest benefits of teamwork is its potential to dramatically reduce the effects of bullying on students.

BUILDS SELF-CONFIDENCE: Teamwork teaches students that their voices are respected and valued. Knowing that she will be heard helps build a student’s self-confidence, while encouraging further participation in group activities.

TEACHES ESSENTIAL SOCIAL SKILLS: Teamwork teaches essential communication and social skills, such as active listening and effective speaking.

DIGNITY OF LABOUR: (PA SYSTEM)

The principle of dignity of labour demands the equal and respectful treatment of people of all jobs. At St. John’s students are taught by example how ancillary and supporting staff in schools and homes must be treated.

What is ‘Dignity of Labour’? This principle states that all people must be treated with equal respect. No job must be considered as superior to another, and any job a person does should not be discriminated against—whether it is rooted in physical work or mental labour. At the end of the day, no job must be looked down upon.
